Let’s jump into the wayback machine to this time last year.. I made 10 predictions for 2006. Let’s see how I did. Last year, I hit 65% correct. Hopefully, I’m improving.

1. Tiered pricing on the iTunes Store – Didn’t happen. And the way things look now, don’t expect to see it happen. I missed this one.

2. HD DVRs will drop to more affordable prices. – I’m torn here. The TiVo Series 3 not withstanding, lots of HD DVRs are now within reach of average folks.. I’m claiming this one.

3. Home PBXs will flourish. – About half of the serious geeks I know have either already played with Asterisk in one form or another. Of those, probably half are regularly using it. I’ll take half-credit here.

4. Intel-based Macs will ship sooner than anyone thought – I nailed this one. Intel Macs were announced a couple of weeks after I made the prediction.

5. HD-DVD will be victorious over Blu-Ray. Jury’s still out, but Blu-Ray seems to be on the ropes.. I lose.

6. The next Moto iTunes phone won’t completely suck. This year, Moto shot out the RAZR V3i and the SLVR, both of which suck far less than the SUKR, err…ROKR. I win.

7. RSS Everywhere. Look around. It’s all around you. More of you are reading this via the RSS feed than the actual website. Score one more for me.

8. Vista will be delayed once more, into 2007 even. Sure, you can download it from any number of torrents, MSDN if you’re a member, or from Microsoft if you’re a large enterprise customer. But for just folks, Vista won’t be available until next year. Granted, early next year, but 2007 all the same. I proclaim victory.

9. We’ll move. We did move. No disputing that.

10. The Dell DJ will fly south, permanently. Dell finally realized the futility of trying to build the next iPod killer. FTW!

Ok, so that’s 7.5/10, or 75%. There it is.

Coming soon, my predictions for 2007.
